Cyprus International Football Tournament Regulations
1. NAME OF THE TOURNAMENT
The name of the tournament is “CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT”.
2. ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE
Organization committee will include:
CYPRUS TOURISM ORGANISATION (C.T.O)
TECOMA TRAVEL & TOURS LTD and TECOMA SPORT
3. THE STADIUM
The matches will be played in stadiums in the Larnaca and Famagusta
district.
4. ELIGIBILITY
The football teams from the national leagues of European countries
will be eligible to participate.
5. MATCH SCHEDULE
The tournament is scheduled to be organized from February 2nd until
February 9th, 2008. The dates of the tournament matches will take place within
the dates above.
6. SUBSTITUTES
Any five players and one goalkeeper may be substituted during each
match.
8. YELLOW AND RED CARDS
In case of repeated cautions in different matches and after any subsequent
cautions, a player will be suspended for the subsequent match. A player sent
off the field; shown a red card will be suspended for the subsequent match.
The Organising Committee will decide the number of matches for the suspension
with red cards for serious incidents. These rules are valid during the tournament.
9. REFEREES
Referees and assistant referees will be appointed by the Organizing
Committee.
10. DURATION OF MATCHES
Each match will be played 2x45 minutes. The half time interval shall
last 15 minutes.
11. MODE OF COMPETITION
All matches shall be played in accordance with the Laws of the Game
as laid down by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) (current
edition), unless specified otherwise in the present regulations.
Format (8 Teams Tournament)
The tournament will be organized in two Groups A and B and the teams will be
placed there by a draw. Each team will play three games in their group respectively,
and they will be granted 3 points for win, 1 for draw and 0 for defeat. The
two teams which will finish first in each Group will compete against each other
at the final.
If the final match will finish in a tie, then the winner will be determined
by the penalty system and overtime will not be played. International rules will
be applied to penalty shots.
12. PLAYERS LISTS
Each participating club should submit a provisional player’s
list with names before the beginning of the tournament.
13. TRAVEL PROGRAMME
The traveling programs should be informed by each participant to Organization
Committee also in due course.
14. TEAM/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR PHOTO
Participants should send their team and technical director photos
and delegation and players list for the Cyprus International Football Tournament
brochure to be prepared.
15. NATIONAL ANTHEM AND FLAG
Each participant should bring their National Anthem cassette or CD
and flag.
16. PRIZE, CUP AND MEDALS
The champion of the tournament will receive EURO 5.000 prize money and CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL CUP. The 2nd Rank Team (The Finalist) will receive EURO 3.000 prize money and the 2nd Rank Cup.
17. PROTESTS/COMPLAINTS
All protest or complaints shall be made to the Organizing Committee,
whose decision shall be final and binding. The Committee will not accept complaints
relating to decisions taken by referee.
18. UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
Any matters that are not covered in these guidelines will be referred
to Organization Committee and their decision will be final.
